Future Recreation Leader Scholarship
The Valley City Parks and Recreation Foundation serves as a steward of recreation, wellness, and health in our community. We support local parks, trails, and programs that encourage people of all ages and abilities to live actively and lead by example. To inspire the next generation, we established this scholarship to recognize students pursuing careers in recreation, wellness, and related fields—helping them grow into leaders who will continue to promote healthy, active communities.

Parktober Festival
Funds are raised through Halloween Costume Fun Run registrations, pumpkin sales, and free will donations for the soup and sandwich lunch.
Drive to Thrive Golf Scramble
The VCPR Foundation hosted its second annual Drive to Thrive Golf Scramble, bringing the community together for a day of golf, fun, and fundraising to support scholarships and accessible recreation opportunities.

Period Product Drive
The VCPR Foundation partnered with APOC and the Valley City Community Closet to host a period product drive, helping provide essential hygiene products to young girls and community members who may not have reliable access to these necessities. The initiative supports health, dignity, and accessibility for all in our community.
Play It Forward
The VCPR Foundation hosted a Play It Forward Open House featuring gently used sports equipment available through a “pay what you can” model to make recreation more affordable and accessible.

Future Recreation Leader Scholarship
The VCPR Foundation awarded its Future Recreation Leader Scholarship to a graduating high school senior pursuing a career in health and wellness, encouraging the next generation to promote healthy lifestyles and make a positive impact in their future communities.

Our goals
Provide scholarships for youth programs and activities
Offer reduced memberships for individuals that qualify
Contribute to the conservation of natural resources and green spaces in the community
Drive projects such as new playgrounds, equipment, and amenities

We are accepting monetary donations at this time. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and will benefit those in our community that may need financial help for youth programs and Gaukler Family Wellness Center memberships.
