Since 1985, the United States has celebrated July as National Park & Recreation month. A program of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), the goal is to raise awareness of the vital impact the parks, recreation and conservation have on communities across the U.S.
This July, Valley City Park District and the National Recreation and Park Association are celebrating WE ARE PARKS AND REC. We will be highlighting our park and recreation professionals and showcasing the diversity of staff and their selfless work. NRPA encourages everyone to join in supporting parks and recreation by sharing something new they’ve discovered with the hashtag #WeAreParksandRec. For more information about National Recreation and Park July activities, go to https://www.nrpa.org/july.
